Aliant, one of the main IT integrators and IT service management providers, and Tailent, the Romanian technology company known for democratizing access to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions, have entered into a partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA) from the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iași (UAIC) to contribute to the development of future generations of specialists in RPA solutions. Through this approach, the university aims to better prepare students for the jobs of the future and thus provide support solid for Romanian companies operating in the automation sector, given that the RPA industry has accelerated in recent years globally, and Romania is becoming an important global supplier of solutions based on this technology.

In collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEAA - UAIC), the two companies are creating a Center of Excellence (CE) and an RPA course based on Tailent technologies, accessible to all interested students. The Center of Excellence has three roles: the creation of an Educational Center for the training of future automation specialists, a Competence Center with the potential to support Romanian and international companies, including through internship programs, as well as a Research and Development Center dedicated to collaboration with FEAA experts in the field of automation and optimization of business processes.

"The goal of this initiative is to position FEAA one step ahead when it comes to these technologies, through practical implementations, research articles and through changes in the academic offer so as to better prepare graduates for a career in this field. This is a very important part of our strategy to ally with Romanian companies with a progressive vision and startups that have developed globally. We need to provide strong examples to our students and support the economy to make the transition from outsourcing to software product development", says Professor Mircea Georgescu, Univ. Prof. dr., who will coordinate the Tailent RPA Center of Excellence.

This partnership is developed by Aliant, Tailent Gold Partner, through its team of experts who will transfer their knowledge and expertise to the students. Aliant and Tailent announced in January 2021 an alliance whose main objective is to bring next-generation RPA automation technologies closer to small and medium-sized companies that want to transform their business.

The RPA Center of Excellence is based on a dedicated team of faculty, students and technology experts who support multiple functional areas within the academic institution. The main role of the Center of Excellence is to train future automation experts so that they add value to companies by supporting employees in eliminating routine activities.

"I found a great openness to technology at FEAA, and I think the college is the ideal place for a Center of Excellence in RPA, because it perfectly combines the knowledge of business administration and economic theories with the way it works in the real world. There is huge value in bringing academia closer to business. Aliant is committed to help exploit this value by providing relevant knowledge, developing skills and using Tailent's next-generation automation technology," said Bogdan Ciubotaru, Partner and Chief Commercial Officer at Aliant.

The collaboration is also part of Tailent's strategy to democratize access to RPA technology globally and to support the Romanian economy and IT environment to evolve and better adapt to a "robotized" future. This evolution is absolutely necessary in the context in which Romania is already recognized as a very important global supplier of automation solutions.

"We support education and want to contribute to the creation of an ecosystem of innovation and collaboration made up of the main players in the economy. Technology companies, academia and business must collaborate for a better future, both in Romania and globally, according to the "think global, act local" principle. Higher education in Romania is aligned with the international standards of the major academic centers for Research, Development and Innovation. In addition, the creation of Academic Centers of Excellence is an important step in our mission to democratize access to RPA technology so that more and more companies can use software robots to increase productivity and competitiveness,” said Mario Popescu, CEO Tailent.

Students who complete the required courses earn a Tailent Academic Major and will receive a digital badge that they can use online to indicate their major. In addition, companies can hire internship-ready students trained in process automation technologies, and they can put their knowledge into practice, quickly adding value to their employers.

Tailent is currently in a process of expansion, both locally and internationally, by concluding new partnerships and entering strategic markets, RPA being an industry that has accelerated strongly in recent years, globally, in time that Romania has become an important global supplier of automation solutions. The company recently signed agreements with two solution providers: Winsig, a Portuguese company with an extensive customer base in Europe, Africa and South America, and Wolters Kluwer, which operates in highly regulated industries.
