Unilever, a global leader in consumer goods, has been collaborating with Ricoh since 2004 for the management of its Managed Print Services (MPS), expanding coverage from 5 to 48 countries. This partnership provides efficient and flexible solutions aligned with Unilever's sustainability and cost optimization goals.

The "Next Generation Print" Project
Through this project, Unilever and Ricoh implemented a flexible and cost-effective printing infrastructure supporting the company's Green IT strategy. The main objectives include:
•    Optimizing the global printing infrastructure beyond Europe;
•    Reducing paper waste and energy consumption;
•    Meeting Energy Star standards;
•    Enhancing equipment functionality and reducing the variety of models through a standardized global product catalog;
•    Introducing IC card-based authentication for enhanced security;
•    Establishing a global print policy to raise awareness of costs and environmental impact.

Uncovering Hidden Costs and Reducing Environmental Impact
Ricoh’s solutions include evaluating document workflows, optimizing devices, and reducing energy usage and CO2 emissions. The @Remote Enterprise-Pro tool provides Unilever with detailed reports at site, country, and regional levels, enabling comprehensive monitoring of print volumes, energy consumption, and toner recycling.

Results and Continuity
The strategic partnership between Unilever and Ricoh has led to reduced direct and indirect costs, improved environmental performance, and increased operational efficiency. The decision to continue the collaboration reflects Unilever's recognition of Ricoh's flexibility, extensive European coverage, and commitment to sustainability.
